a lot of things will happen during our lifetime, too many things, thats why we can only remember the significant ones. this memory is from summer 2006.
i got selected to go to an honor camp for language arts for 6 weeks in middle georgia , about 2 hours from where i lived. the camp was for high school students who excelled in academics and arts. when i got there i wasnt quite sure if i made the right choice of accepting the invitation. i didnt really know anyone there and the weather was quite hot. i decided to minor in science. out of all the science minors, i befriended a guy. he was really cute (half japanese, half white)--lets call him mr. x but i didnt really think much about anything besides making a few new friends. however, one day while i was walking with a bunch of my girl buddies, we walked passed mr.x who just came back from tennis....and after we waved to each other across the street, as we passed by he shouted "HEY AMANDA, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TONIGHT???" i shouted back that i was gonna go to coffee house and he said that he wanted to go with me.
after going to coffee house that day, we did laundary together all the time. while we waited in the laundary room, we would sit on the table and play poker. the winner got to draw on the loser's hands. his hands were convered with bunnies and flowers. haha. good times.
we also went to salsa together too. he was kind of stiff. but it was ok. he tried.
after that things got a little fuzzy. we didnt talk or hang out as much anymore and quite frankly i havent talked to him at all.
theres something frustrating about trying too hard to make someone laugh. i felt i had to go beyong the distance to humor him. but he was truely awesome. he was so bright and also athletic too. i think i just admired him a great deal.
but nevertheless, i want to thank him for the memories. afterall...i think he was the first person who asked me out. it was an honor :)
