im sure most of you know that by mentioning the upper east side, im referring to the stripe of land in manhattan, new york, between central park and the east river. summing it up, its where the rich people (mostly bankers) live.
yesterday i watched NANNY DIARIES. in this movie, the nanny, a recently graduated student who majored in anthropology, narrates the the story. although this film is a comedy, it also reveals the disfunctional rich families of the upper east side.
this got me thinking. why are these ridiculously rich people so miserable? why is there always a trade off? its either you can have a ridiculously large amount of money to fill the void or you can receive unconditional love from your family.
after a glimpse of the more-or-less ugly truth of the upper class, i really sympathize with the gold diggers. really, i do. before securing their marriage to their rich banker boyfriends, they deal with the possibility of being dumped/played with. after marriage they have to deal with their husband spending time and money on other women.
then again, of course im being biased. im sure those women knew what they were getting into and happily accepted the possible outcomes. they knew the trade offs.
AND LETS JUST HOPE SOME GOT THE BEST OF THE TWO WORLDS.

niceee lol.
your post had me reflecting back on what a lot of people believe, "the more money in the bank, the happier you'll be." Those are the people who are too insecure with their lives and don't know how to manifest happiness from the smallest things they have they have to go back material gain. :/ it's sad.
My parents have always told me that if I become a doctor, I'll study hard.. have a miserable time in college but once I get out I'll be happy.. cause I'll have the money. But what the small things in life that can make you happy?
:) Anyways, nice post!
for those of us who cherish all the small things in life. working urself to death try to make money and not being able to spend time with family sounds strangely mundane and boring. but then again....i wouldnt want to live in a trailer park. i guess i'd like to seek the middle way.
oh gross i just realized i forgot to the word "are" in the question.. LOLLLL what an eye sore.
i forgot "ing" in trying. im bothered by it.
LOLLL it's like typing up papers for English again. Ahaha I'm so paranoid my English teacher is going to take her ruler and whack me around the head LOLLL
