scarce=valuable.

this is the reason why so many people cant find jobs. because nobody wants mundane jobs, everyone wants to a lawyer and a doctor and other high pay or glamorous jobs.

the value of a career is the dignity that you bring to it. not the riches that it'll bring you.

the people i admire are the ones that wake up everyday with a purpose of bringing dignity to his or her work no matter which career path they chose.

for a while i wanted to be a doctor because the pay is high (shallow despicable thinking). but then i thought about the right purpose for being a doctor, which is to save lives of underprivileged people. and quite frankly im not fit enough to fulfill such a task. thats why i admire war-zone doctors. theyre brave enough to do something i would never be brave enough to do. or doctors who go to developing countries and treat impoverished villagers.

these guys are heros.

This. God, it was so infuriating when the health care bill got passed. I don't really want to get into the logistics of the bill itself, but some idiot on my friends list was like "Oh god, time to change majors now since doctors are going to be so underpaid."

Really?
